Wow, that is all that I can say about two things so far; first the views which are breathtaking, and second the thin air which is also quite literally breathtaking.
Day one of this trip has been the most physically demanding thing I have ever done in my life. We have climbed over 4,000 feet today. Had the climb been at a lower elevation it may not have been so difficult. It is amazing how much the elevation effects you. The were places where the incline wasn't nearly as steep as those that I climb on the way to work, yet I could only manage to ride about ten feet before I would be winded and have to walk my bike. Luckily, this is supposed to be the most grueling day so the rest of the trip should be a breeze ;)
One bad thing did happen today that I should really mention and that is that I lost my wedding band. It has gotten a bit loose lately with my weight loss and it fell off when I took off my riding gloves. I didn't notice it until it was too late. I will have to post a message on the forum for the hut system so that maybe someone with anagle eye will find it and return it someday.
So day one was difficult but wonderful. It is amazing spending time with my friends in such a gorgeous place. This is really panning out to be the exrience of a lifetime.

i could have been riding vicariously through this. ahahahahaha.
@Erika - Unfortunately you wouldn't have been able to do so in realtime because I was too sick to keep up with it. I'll try to finish up day 5 tonight and Sean and/or J will have to finish 6 and 7.
